Paul Rand

Paul Rand's graphic designs are the most popular in the world.  His combination of graphic design and typography is groundbreaking for his generation.  He is most renowned for his corporate logo designs and is one of the most influential designers of the 20th century.  Most people believe his designs set the standard for the creation of corporate logos.  Rand's style for his designs is a simple look, he once stated, "Simplicity is not the goal.  It is the by-product of a good idea and modest expectations."
Paul Rand credits his success in the design business from his extensive education in graphic design.  He strove to unite letters by finding unique ways of bringing letters together to create a stronger, more unique design.  The combination between the image and or illustration with the typography, helped emphasize the point of the design to the viewer.
While driving by a billboard the viewer only has moments to comprehend the intent of the advertisement and Paul Rand believed that simplicity was the key to understanding the design.  Everything Paul Rand has ever created has been simplistic in order to appeal aesthetically.  By using the same formula in all his designs Paul Rand has his own unique style that separates him from other graphic designers.
